Robin Mynatt has been a self taught sewer/designer for 16 years and now lives in Sisters OR. with her husband and two children. We moved to the country in Sisters in May this year and love it! We are surrounded by horses and cows on Hurtley Ranch Road. My kids have plenty of space to run and ride their 4 wheelers on our 5 acres, and we plan on having horses soon. :) I consider myself an entrepreneur as I have had a few antique stores along the way, and had been a hairdresser for 20 years in Tustin, Orange County CA. So my instinct of color and design is a natural thing that drives me to create. I started out sewing clothes for myself at the age of 30. I have sewn/designed custom bridal gowns to wedding dress alterations, also I have sewn many children's boutique clothes since my daughter Mattie was born in 2002, she is now 5, and my son Brodey is 4~ :)
I have been searching for my niche and exploring all kinds hobbies since my late twenties. Now at 44 (now 47) I am seeing it is coming together in a way I never dreamed.
I was designing images on the computer and selling my finished products online when I was approached by an international company that wanted to manufacture my designs into baby bedding/products, etc. We gradually worked towards a line of fabrics and then I wanted to make quilt weight fabrics that we debuted at the 2006 fall International Quilt Market. Vintage roses collection was my premier and very first line I designed, and now I am working on the 5th collection. My favorite quote "luck is when preparation meets opportunity".
